Easter

It's the small things that count when you have been feeling blue. I haven't had the energy to post for a while. My contract at work was coming to an end, knew I'd be laid off then at the last minute was offered a months work at another campus and hopefully more to follow :) In the meantime have spent two weeks coughing my lungs out with a head cold.
Today I received this email and it made my day and I doubt Nita realizes how much so I will share it with you. I know it's more or less like a chain letter but sometimes they touch your heart when you need it.

There comes a point in your life when you realize:
Who matters,
Who never did,
Who won't anymore...
And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future..
Give these flowers to everyone you don't want to lose in 2009

thanks Nita, you're a beautiful lady with a warm heart.

Did You Know.....smile of the day

It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.

One human hair can support 3 kg (6.6 lb).

The average man's penis is three times the length of his thumb.

Human thighbones are stronger than concrete.

A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.

There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.

Women blink twice as often as men.

The average person's skin weighs twice as much as the brain.

Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.

If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.

Women reading this will be finished now.

Men are still busy checking their thumbs.

Moods.....a common subject from a pre menopausal woman

My husband, being unhappy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring
the other day so he would be able to monitor my moods.

We've discovered that when I'm in a good mood, it turns green.

When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a
big red mark on
his freakin
forehead.

Maybe next time he'll buy me a diamond.

Please note: this is not my story :)

Kitchen Wisdom

Kitchen Wisdom

Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of an ice cream cone to prevent ice cream drips.

Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake! You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway!

To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix. Keeps in the pantry for up to a year.
**************************************************************************************
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.

Go to the bakery! Heck, they'll even decorate it for you!
*************************************************************************************

If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant 'fix-me-up.'

If you over-salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too bad. Please recite with me the real woman's motto: 'I made it, you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes!'

Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.

Celery? Never heard of it!
*************************************************************************************

Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.

The Packaged frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust, so I don't.

Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead.. The throbbing will go away.

Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink! All your pains go away!

*************************************************************************************
If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dish washing gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.

Go ask that very cute neighbor if he can open it for you.

Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.

Leftover wine??????????? HELLO!!!!!!!

March

March is the first month of the Australian autumn. Warm turning to cool weather would be the norm in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the southern parts of Western Australia. In tropical Australia, warm weather is expected to continue with rains at the Top End as the Wet season continues.

Melbourne's Moomba Festival takes place during the Victorian Labor Day holiday weekend.
